Hayward is the most widely cultivated kiwi variety in both the world and Türkiye. It produces large fruits with brown, fuzzy skin and bright green flesh. In Türkiye, it is mainly grown around Yalova, Rize, Ordu, and Sakarya. The harvest takes place in autumn, but thanks to cold storage facilities, it can be stored for months and sold throughout winter and spring. It is very rich in vitamin C and is commonly consumed fresh, as well as used in desserts and fruit salads.
